Protest against the disposal of chemical weapons. No disposal of chemical weapons in Europe
Thursday, 14/11/2013 at Piazza Carignano in Turin city center, at 12:00 there was a protest to express opposition to the possibility of disposing of chemical weapons of the Syrian regime in Albania.
Albanians and Italians, have come together to give voice to the sentiment of protest that is involving civil society in Albania and other parts of Europe and the world where they reside Albanian communities.
Students, workers and artists have expressed their disagreement and their concern on an issue that is now becoming a common cause at all. “It ‘a crucial issue for our future and the Albanian community of Turin does not intend to appear indifferent faced with a similar situation,” these are the words of Indrit Aliu during the event.
“The protest is one of the first instances of Albanian citizens have become aware of their ability to influence government decisions through a manifestation of thought, civil, peaceful and non-partisan,” said Fejzian Petritaj.
The focus of the protesters is all directed to the protests that are taking place these days in all Albania. Already in the early afternoon, from sources not yet official, filter rumors of the first signs of a reverse of the Albanian government which is preparing to reject the introduction of chemical weapons in the territory.
