The Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) is expected to be put into practice this year. However, Kosovar businessmen say the free movement of goods does not make sense without the free movement of people. SAA also envisages inter alia the free movement of goods between Kosovo and the European Union (EU).
However, the businessman Muharrem Osmani not expect benefits from SAA, due to visa mosliberalizimit.
“How do we export to EU countries when the first did not have visa liberalization when we have to go from one embassy to another to run. Embassies of the EU countries of Kosovars only enriched us as well as embassies around the agency, “he toldRadio Kosovo.
According to Osmani, no sense of free movement of goods, without the free movement of people.
“How can become contacts between two persons if they communicate via e-mail or phone, unless you have meetings, chat and see and touch the product directly by hand”, highlights this business.
Konushevci Suleiman while another businessman, says that the benefits of the SAA will only be achieved visa liberalization.
“What will it opens us opportunities so that in the future we expect to export in other countries”, he said.
Kosovo is the first country that has signed the Stabilization and Association Agreement after the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty, by which the European Union is recognized as a legal entity.
As a result, it is the exclusive agreement between the EU and Kosovo, which means that the agreement need not be ratified by the member states of the EU separately, as happened to other regional countries. The agreement is expected to enter into force two months after the exchange of letters of ratification.
