Today Kosovo marks 8th anniversary of independence celebration and protest. State institutions have planned some activities, but not a solemn session of the Assembly for the parliamentary blockade five months now reigns with extreme divergence position – opposition.
It is in this anniversary opposition parties are prepared to organize a nationwide protest against the government which will be held in front of the Government of Kosovo, in which, according to organizers, is expected to break the record of the protests in terms of number of participants.
As announced earlier Prishtina institutional activity for celebrating this anniversary of independence begins at 10:00 am with the parade of staff of the Kosovo Security Forces and units of the Kosovo Police in the streets of Pristina. At 11:00 they will be paid homage at the tomb of former President Ibrahim Rugova and at the graves of the Jashari family in Prekaz.
National Ensemble of Song and Dance “Shota” will defilojë in the streets of the city, and the National Ballet Troupe at 20:00 will display the National Theatre in the play “Wedding”.
National Library of Kosovo will remain open exhibition “Kosovo on the path to independence”.
