The Constitution suspends Thaçi’s decree for the new government.
The Constitutional Court decided today, temporarily, until May 29, suspending until a full decision the decree of President Hashim Thaçi to mandate Avdullah Hoti of the Democratic League of Kosovo for Prime Minister.
Thaçi decreed Hoti yesterday, while a few minutes later the Vetëvendosje Movement, as the winner of the last elections, sent the case to the Constitutional Court. Among other things, VV demanded that a temporary measure be imposed to suspend implementation.
The Constitutional Court today ruled on an interim measure and, as a result, the extraordinary session for the vote of the Hoti Government, which was convened on Saturday (13:00), is not expected to be held.
