The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, spoke about the idea of the President to declare a state of emergency in Kosovo, in the first days when the Covid-19 pandemic began to spread in Kosovo.
Osmani said that Thaçi never really had the cooperation between her as Speaker of the Assembly and Albin Kurti as Prime Minister in office, not joining in any important events such as that of the KLA epopee, the session for him survivors of violence and victims of war. He never told Osmani that he did not join us, thus boycotting two of the three most important positions in the state.
She stated in Pressing that, like President Hashim Thaçi, it would be true for her to manage the situation and the good of the citizens, when she said that in order to declare a state of emergency, she would find a way to do so. According to her, his whole struggle was for protagonism in this time of pandemic.
Osmani further said that such polarization in these circumstances of the political scene in the country is unforgivable.
“It is unforgivable to polarize the political scene at this time when the people are facing this situation, the citizens should have seen how we are fighting pandemics, not each other,” said Osmani.
She also spoke about the support given by her party leader Isa Mustafa to Thaçi’s idea to declare a state of emergency. Osmani said that Mustafa should first contact him, as Speaker of the Assembly.
“I would like to be contacted as chairwoman of the Assembly for the state of emergency, since the decision for extraordinary announcement had to be taken as a decision in the Assembly. “All the security experts told us there was no need for a state of emergency.”
