From Monday, June 8, 2020, citizens have the right to move 24 hours. Also, persons entering the Republic of Kosovo from any state will not be subject to the 7-day home self-isolation measure.
Whereas, instead of the obligatory testing for Covid -19 for those who enter, it will be the control measure by the medical teams of QKMF located at the border points or even in QKMF itself within the municipalities.
This was announced by the Minister of Health, Armend Zemaj, in a press conference, where he communicated the new measures regarding the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said that from Monday, June 8, the restriction of movement throughout Kosovo will be completely removed.
According to the measures in force, the citizens of Kosovo cannot circulate from 21:00 in the evening until 05:00 in the morning.
“From Monday, citizens entering Kosovo will not be subject to self-isolation for seven days, while instead of the mandatory testing for COVID-19, for those who enter will be controls by medical teams at border crossings. “, Said Zemaj.
“With the opening of the borders, NIPHK recommends a detailed control for all passengers entering Kosovo, receiving accurate records of their place of residence, telephone number, and tracking of their clinical condition by QKMF. Detailed control is performed according to WHO guidelines, which consists of temperature measurement, clinical signs and symptoms as well as possible contacts of the last two weeks with positive or suspicious persons for COVID-19 ″.
Zemaj said that based on the epidemiological situation, the Ministry of Health will allow complete freedom of citizens and goods, especially with Albania.
“Based on the epidemiological situation, the Ministry of Health and the Government of Kosovo will enable full freedom of movement of goods, in particular with the state of Albania”, said Zemaj.
The director of NIPHK, Naser Ramadani, meanwhile, emphasized that NIPHK is continuing with population tests in order to detect cases with Covid-19 and prevent the spread of the virus.
