During the last month, Kosovo has exported goods worth 38.7 million euros.
This marked an increase of 21.6% compared to the same period in 2019, writes arbresh.info. According to data on export and import flows for May 2020 published by the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (KAS), basic metals and articles thereof accounted for the largest amount of exports.
They are followed by plastics, rubber and articles of prepared food, beverages and tobacco.
“Exports of goods in May 2020 amounted to 38.7 million euros, while imports 239.0 million euros, an increase of (21.6%) for exports and a decrease of (25.7%) for imports compared to the period of same as 2019. According to the data of the main export groups: (44.2%) of exports are basic metals and articles thereof, (10.8%) plastics, rubber and articles thereof, (8.4%) prepared foods, beverages and tobacco, (8.1%) various manufactured items, (5.5%) chemical industry products, (5.4%) mineral products, (4.6%) plant products (3.6%) machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment, etc. in the report.
While Kosovo’s exports to EU countries amounted to 15.0 million Euros, or about 38.8% of total exports, with an increase of 28.8%. The main partners for the export of goods to the EU are: Germany (6.8%), Italy (5.2%), Great Britain (3.4%), the Netherlands (3.4%), Sweden (3.1%), etc.
In May 2020, Kosovo’s exports to CEFTA countries amounted to 18.3 million Euros, or 47.3% of total exports, an increase of 17.5%. The main export partners from CEFTA countries are: Albania (28.8%), Northern Macedonia (8.9%), Serbia (5.1%), and Montenegro (3.2%).
Kosovo’s exports to other countries of the world amounted to 5.3 million Euros, or 13.9%. As the most important partners from these countries for export it is worth mentioning: Switzerland (7.4%) .
