Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has stayed at a cultural manifesto in Rumeli for the Hilaq Congress Center in Istanbul. In his speech before the audience, he said that the Turkish, Albanian and Bosnian people are 1 and should not be divided but united.
“Please, Turkish people, Albanians, Bosniaks… Brothers, we are one, together and we will not be divided. “Serbia must not take any negative steps in your direction, so we will not give luxury to those who want to sow fear of division between us,” Erdogan said.
According to him, in the last 10 years, Turkey is trying to restore the hundred-year-old neglect of the Balkans, and even the citizens of different Balkan countries should unite.
“We in the Balkans must be unique with both Albanians and Turks. Let me remind you that the creator of the Turkish anthem Mehmet Aqif Ersoj was Albanian, but he read the anthem that conveyed the feelings of the Turkish people. When he wrote the hymn he received much applause in Parliament, which lasted for hours. As Turkey develops, it becomes richer and stronger and our brothers in the Balkans will benefit greatly from this. For us, there is no division between Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Edirne, Skopje, Tirana, Prizren, Sarajevo, Thessaloniki, Kardzhali and Shumen. We can not live apart from them, I can not forget the things I experienced in Mostar, Pristina or Prizren. The love and hospitality that people showed for me there I also feel for them. As we see in our cities, so we see in the cities of those lands. As Turkey we operate through the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) Junus Emre Institute, the private sector – so we are constantly available to our brothers in every aspect. We try to act more through commitments that will simplify people’s lives, preserve works and historical values, Erdogan said.
