The Pristina court has reiterated the arrest warrant for Zvonko Veselinovic, who along with 12 other Serbs was placed on the US sanctions list.

The infamous crime figure in the northern part of Kosovo is suspected of several criminal offenses such as: “participation or organization of an organised KRlMlNAL group”, “aggravated murder”, “endangering United Nations personnel and personnel in relation to them” and “causing general danger”.

Recall that in the statement of the US Treasury Department, Zvonko Veselinovic is identified as the leader of the Organized KRlMlT Group and also as one of the most notorious figures of corruption in Kosovo.

His group is engaged in large-scale bribery schemes with security officials, Kosovars and Serbs, who facilitate the illegal trafficking of goods, money, narcotics and weapons between Kosovo and Serbia, the statement said.

According to her, the group has also conspired with various politicians for mutual favors, including bribing Kosovo security officials, to allow their smuggling operations between Serbia and Kosovo in early 2019, and bribing border officials to Kosovo to allow smugglers safe passage at the end of 2017.

Whereas, in 2019, the Court in Prishtina had issued an international arrest warrant against Veselinovic  on suspicion of having a hand in the event of July 25, 2011, where a member of the special unit of the Kosovo Police, Enver Zymberi, was killed.

Veselinovic was also mentioned in the case of the assassination of former Kosovo Serb politician Oliver Ivanovic.
