The director of the “Musinë Kokalari” Institute, Visar Ymeri, said that based on the January electricity bill, he is estimated to pay 236 euros more in February, when the new tariff structures are expected to enter into force.
According to Ymeri, his KEDS bill for January is worth 146 euros.
“The electricity bill for January was distributed yesterday (in the residential complex where I live). For this month I had spent 1543 kWh on the expensive A1 tariff, and 1024 kWh on the cheap (overnight) A2 tariff. The value of this monthly invoice is 146.32 euros, which includes VAT (10.80 euros) and a fixed fee (1.74 euros) “, explained Ymeri.
According to the tariffs proposed by ERO, the former MP has calculated that the next bill – in case he consumes the same amount of megawatts of energy – will be worth 383 euros.
Calculating the January bill with the potential bill of February, Ymer turns out to have a 161 percent increase in price.
“When you calculate the same expense with the tariffs proposed by ERO, the value of the invoice reaches 383.06 euros. This then drops to 266.61 euros after the application of the subsidy made available by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo “, he said. “So the bill that today costs 146.32 euros will cost 383.06 euros after February 1.”
According to ERO’s proposal, the proposed tariffs for electricity prices are expected to remain in force until April 2023.
