Dhaka urges Kosovo to recruit more Bangladeshi
POLITICS

Jan 22, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh has urged Kosovo to recruit more Bangladeshi workers. The request was made when newly appointed Kosovo Ambassador to Bangladesh Lulzim Pllana called on Forign Secretary Md. Jashim Uddin at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.
Obviously Bangladesh has no idea about Kosovo and the fact that Kosovars are leaving Kosovo in droves as there is a lack of work and low wages.
The last thing Kosovo needs is the importation of cheap labour from Bangladesh!
When he speaks about MORE Bangladeshis, is he speaking about the five Bagladeshis that are locked up in the detention centre??? That were brought to Kosovo to work by a company, that didn't pay them and tore up all of their papers and then dumped them at the police station.
They have now been locked in detention for months now, along with Sitora Atomamadova, showing how Kosovo treats any foreigners that want to work in Kosovo. Nurses train in nursing to leave Kosovo and work in other countries, such as Germany. The hospitals in Kosovo will never improve without good staff and now the warning is out at what happens to foreigners that want to work in hospitals in Kosovo, they end up in the detention centre.
So don't even think of travelling to Kosovo to work, or you will end up in detention centre and be deported.
During the meeting, the foreign secretary called for a more streamlined visa process, particularly for workers and students of Bangladesh to minimize delays in visa approvals. What a joke, as even if they have a permanent resident card they will be placed in the detention centre without being paid.
The Foreign Secretary underscored the importance of boosting economic activities between the two countries to enhance bilateral trade and investment.
He encouraged the Ambassador to connect with members of the business community and the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) to explore potential areas for collaboration.
How would a country that has its citizens locked up in Kosovo, possibly think of doing business there.
